Starting with a comprehensive feasibility study, including traffic predictions and estimates for future demand, we produce an outline design and a detailed capital cost estimate.
We produce detailed designs (including materials specifications) to provide the required fuel volumes. The designs avoid over-capacity, to cut unnecessary additional expense, while building in the potential for expansion to meet future growth in demand.

Shell Aviation has been responsible for the design review of major fuel systems at a number of large European airports, such as London Gatwick and Amsterdam Schiphol. These include extensions to hydrants, refueller gantries, supply pipelines, depot storage facilities and depot system automation.
Over recent years the team has provided design consultancy and commissioning of the EAFS Fuel Farm in Hong Kong and supported the commissioning of the new fuel farm and hydrant system and the extension phase at Dubai International Airport. In addition, we have provided technical support for projects in Bermuda, Maldives, IGA Istanbul, Oman, South Africa, Malaysia, Curacao and Aruba, providing services including design review, site visits during construction and commissioning of facilities.
