Li Qian, Secretary of the Board and Chief Investment Officer at BYD, discusses how BYD has partnered with Shell in order to address the challenge of providing sufficient EV charging solutions for their customers and to meet increasing demand, as well as commenting on the two companies’ current and future collaborative efforts in Asia and Latin America respectively.

BYD needs a charging solution at a scale that could match the convenience of petrol retailing.

In Shenzhen, BYD and Shell already have EV operating charge points.

The flagship site can serve more than 3,300 customers per day.

The future: global expansion

In 2022, Shell and BYD signed MOU of global strategic partnership, and since that, the collaboration has gone faster and wider.
