Shell and Ducati
The technical partnership between Ducati Corse and Shell has developed into one of the most successful collaborations in motorsport. Explore our history on and off the racetrack to discover how Shell works shoulder-to-shoulder with the Ducati Corse team. Together, we apply the lessons learned from extreme testing environments to develop Shell V-Power Road fuel and Shell Advance oil.

Technical Partnership with Ducati
Shell and Ducati have forged one of the most enduring and successful partnerships in motorsport, recently extending their technical collaboration through to 2027. Since its inception in 1999, the alliance has powered Ducati’s racing dominance in both MotoGP and World SBK, with Shell providing bespoke V-Power race fuels and Shell Advance engine oils tailored for Ducati’s high-performance machines. This partnership has contributed to multiple Constructors’ and Riders’ Championships, including back-to-back MotoGP titles with Francesco Bagnaia and a historic 2025 victory with Marc Márquez, marking his seventh MotoGP title.
What we’ve learned on the track fuels every Ducati road bike; each one leaving the factory with Shell Advance oil and Shell V-Power fuel – formulations rigorously tested through the racing season.
Ducati and MotoGP
Ducati’s dominance in MotoGP reached new heights as Marc Marquez claimed his seventh premier class title in 2025—his first with Ducati—joining Francesco Bagnaia, who secured back-to-back championships in 2022 and 2023.
The partnership between Shell and Ducati has led to great success in MotoGP. Together they helped Ducati win the Constructors’ Championship five years in a row, including in 2023 and 2024. These wins show the strong collaboration between Ducati’s bikes and Shell’s fuels and oils and the teamwork continues to push the limits of performance on track.

Shell and Ducati – Sustainable Racing
Shell and Ducati are leading the way towards a more sustainable future in motorsport through their long-standing technical partnership. Together, they are developing fuels with at least 40% non-fossil origin for MotoGP’s 2024 regulations, aiming for 100% by 2027. Shell is creating high performance lubricants and bespoke VPower race fuels that meet the sports new environmental standards but also maintain Ducati’s competitive edge on the track.
Meet the team
Marc Márquez

Marc Márquez
The nine-time World Champion (seven titles in MotoGP, one in Moto2, and one in 125cc) has carved out one of the most iconic careers in MotoGP history. Hailing from Cervera, Spain, Márquez burst onto the world stage with his fearless riding style and quickly became the youngest-ever premier class champion in 2013. His early dominance saw him clinch six MotoGP titles in just seven seasons, establishing himself as a generational talent.
After a series of injuries threatened to derail his career, Márquez made a historic resurgence. In 2025, now riding for the factory Ducati team, he rediscovered his winning form and clinched his seventh MotoGP title, tying Valentino Rossi for second-most premier class championships.
Márquez’s comeback is more than just numbers. It’s a story of resilience, grit, and evolution. After enduring four surgeries on his right arm and switching teams twice, his 2025 title—secured with five rounds remaining—is widely hailed as one of the greatest comebacks in sports history. His pursuit of excellence continues to redefine what greatness looks like in MotoGP.
Francesco Bagnaia

Francesco Bagnaia
The reigning MotoGP two-time World Champion has had a remarkable journey in motorcycle racing. The Italian embarked on his racing career in Minimoto and quickly rose to prominence, earning the title of European MiniGP Champion in 2009.
Bagnaia later made a strong entry into Moto2, where he was recognized as the best rookie of the season. His exceptional performance continued, and he went on to clinch the Moto2 World Championship title with eight wins and twelve podium finishes -an achievement that propelled him into MotoGP in 2019.
Bagnaia has since established himself as the man to beat in MotoGP. His 2022 & 2023 MotoGP titles make him the first rider since 2019 to take back-to-back premier class crowns.
Álvaro Bautista

Álvaro Bautista
The veteran Spaniard continues to be a major force in World Superbike, even as the competition intensifies. After a dominant 2023 season where he claimed 27 victories and a second consecutive title, Bautista faced stiffer challenges in 2024 and 2025 but has remained a consistent podium threat, securing 10 podium finishes in the first 18 races of the season 1.
Bautista, who returned to Ducati in 2022, has now amassed 63 WorldSBK wins and 117 podiums, making him the most successful Ducati rider in the championship’s history. A former 125cc World Champion (2006), he also enjoyed a long stint in MotoGP, earning three podiums before transitioning to WorldSBK in 2019. Bautista remains a fierce competitor, determined to challenge rivals.
