Developing lubricants for Hyundai customers
Shell supplies premium Shell Helix engine oils to Hyundai customers in more than 70 countries around the world. The two companies work together to develop lubricant technologies that support vehicle performance, efficiency and protection.
Their work extends beyond conventional engine oils. Under the renewed partnership, Shell and Hyundai plan to expand collaboration in areas including next-generation e-fluids and thermal management, alongside digital innovation and high-performance mobility.
Shell also works with Hyundai N Division to co-engineer lubricants for high-performance engines and electric vehicles. This provides a testing environment for product development and a platform for demonstrating lubricant technologies to performance-focused customers.

Shell and Genesis Magma Racing in endurance racing
Shell is the Official Performance and Innovation Partner to Genesis Magma Racing in the FIA WEC. The partnership extends Shell’s relationship with Hyundai Motor Group into endurance racing.
Shell was involved in developing a specialised 0W-40 engine oil for the Genesis Magma Racing GMR-001 Hypercar, combining Shell's lubricant expertise with the technical demands of endurance racing. The formulation combines Shell PurePlus Technology with components designed to support performance, thermal stability and protection over endurance racing distances.
The FIA World Endurance Championship includes the 24 Hours of Le Mans, placing sustained performance, lubricant stability and component protection at the centre of the technical challenge. The GMR-001 competes in the Hypercar category, the championship's top class, bringing together leading manufacturers and advanced racing technologies.

Shell and Hyundai Motorsport in the World Rally Championship
Shell has supported Hyundai Motorsport’s lubricant requirements in the FIA WRC since Hyundai entered the competition in 2014. As Technical Partner and co-title sponsor of the Hyundai Shell Mobis World Rally Team, Shell works closely with Hyundai Motorsport to develop specialised lubricants for rally competition.
