GameChanger supports proof of Kabadiwalla Connect’s business model
Jun 28, 2021
A panel of Shell technology experts has selected Kabadiwalla Connect, a start-up company based in Chennai, India, to receive advice and funding through the Shell GameChanger programme.
This support is intend to enable the start-up to prove the viability of its app-based “reverse logistics” supply chain, which helps municipalities and waste-management companies recover post-consumer waste cheaply, efficiently and safely through a network of informal workers. In this way, Kabadiwalla Connect aims to divert waste away from the landfill and improve the livelihood of workers in India’s informal economy. The project was one of many proposals that GameChanger received in response to a targeted "call for solutions" that sought to apply digital technology, including artificial intelligence, to help significantly improve the quality of life of front-line waste-management workers.
