It means that our inclusion strategy is about absolutely everyone. So whoever you are, and wherever you are, we want you to be free to be yourself at Shell and to contribute positively to our inclusive culture.

It means we recognise that each of us starts from a different place, and levelling the playing field for everyone means taking targeted action – starting with our four global equity focus areas (Gender, Race & Ethnicity, LGBT+ and Disability Inclusion and enABLEment).

It means we publish our roadmap and our guiding principles, which were built from hundreds of conversations with colleagues, so you know where we are today, where we want to go and how we plan to get there. We don’t have all the answers. And we’ll keep talking, listening, learning and improving our approach.

It means being transparent about our data and experiences. Much of it will be positive, some of it will show we’re heading in the right direction and some of it will demand we do more.

It means Shell is a great place to work because we have prioritised inclusion for decades, with an ambition to continuously improve because we know we can do more. In 2022, our Shell People Survey, which measures employee engagement at Shell, showed a result of 82 points out of 100 for all questions relating to DE&I (up two points from 2021). The question ‘I feel like I belong at Shell’ scored 80 (up three points from 2021).
