Vitol and Helios have acquired the majority of Shell’s shareholding in its downstream businesses in Cape Verde, Mauritius, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Senegal and Tunisia- launching the joint-venture Vivo Energy in these countries. As a result, local companies have changed names to Vivo Energy Maroc, Vivo Energy Tunisie; Vivo Energy Senegal, Vivo Energy Madagascar, Vivo Energy Mauritius, Vivo Energy Mali, Vivo Energy Cabo Verde.

Shell, Vitol and Helios will now focus on resolving the remaining regulatory and legal issues for the completion of this transaction in all the remaining countries during 2012.
