How we support our portfolio companies
Shell Ventures is more than a route for capital - we specialise in deployment and scaling-up. Our dedicated team of implementation experts works closely with our portfolio companies and business partners to identify opportunities for technology deployment and strategic collaboration across Shell’s global assets and operations.
Through Shell, we can help provide access to technical and scientific expertise, research and development facilities, and support for field‑trial pilots to further develop and demonstrate new concepts. We can also provide access to Shell's global network, helping create the best opportunities for our portfolio companies.
As a minority investor, we support companies across the full development spectrum, from early‑stage ventures to scale‑ups, with initial investments typically ranging from $2–5 million and total potential commitments reaching between $10–25 million over the lifecycle. We participate in and lead funding rounds, forming syndicates with venture capital firms and corporate venturing groups, while maintaining the strong relationships that are paramount to our success. Our team continually builds and strengthens Shell Ventures’ network, helping create the best opportunities for our portfolio companies.
