Shell provides around 3% of the world’s energy for homes, businesses and transport. We also contribute to the countries and communities in which we operate in other ways.

Our operations support livelihoods through the people we employ and the goods and services we buy from local suppliers in more than 70 countries.

We make payments to governments including taxes and royalties, as well as sales taxes that we collect on their behalf. These help fund essential services such as health care, education and transport.

We provide training and skills which support local economic development. And we help support local economies and communities through our social investments. These investments help fund different programmes depending on the needs of the local community in areas including education, skills development, enterprise development and access to energy.
