What is Technical Asset Support (TAS)?
As part of Shell’s Safety, Environment and Asset Management (SEAM), the Technical Asset Support team offers business functions, remote technical support, and digital solutions to help staff from Shell’s different operations complete their tasks more easily.
The team works with business units globally, from Projects & Technology (P&T) to Finance & Data Operations (FO-Data) partners, to help ensure safe and efficient process delivery, reduce costs, share best practices, and reduce emissions.
Shell’s TAS specifically supports multiple assets in Chemical & Products Manufacturing, Integrated Gas and Renewables & Energy Solutions, and Upstream and Subsurface Wells & Reservoirs Facility Management.

Asset Care (AC)
The Asset Care team ensures assets reliability by supporting asset care plan developments, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) studies, and Risk Assessment Matrix (RAM) analyses. Members of Asset Care use digital technologies to provide instrumentation services, functional safety, and maintenance solutions across all operational asset units.
Asset Data & Digital Transformation (ADT)
The Asset Data & Digital Transformation team delivers and verifies quality data and insights to help make informed business decisions.
Process Specialists and Engineers manage the Project-to-Asset (P2A) lifecycle, develop Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), coach Asset Management System staff, and lead quality improvement initiatives to fast-track Shell’s digitalisation journey.
Production Optimisation (PO)
The Production Optimisation team enables safe and efficient production by ensuring process excellence in maintenance execution. The team manages operation, maintenance and turnaround activities, predictive maintenance, and Integrated Activity Planning and Scheduling (IAPS).
Production Optimisation also supports Process Engineering, Asset Integrity Management, and Economic Modelling.
Field Execution Optimisation (FEO)
The Field Execution Optimisation Team supports maintenance and turnaround execution through work planning, preparation activities, permit preparation, maintenance optimisation, and project services.
The team consists of Engineers, Process Engineers, and Tech Specialists who handle cost estimation, engineering, and control, provide technical expertise, and ensure that project activities align with process requirements.
Subsurface and Wells & Reservoir Facility Management (WRFM)
The WRFM team oversees data management for Asset Operations, providing technical support for Geo-Information, Well Engineering, Petrophysics, Technical Reporting, and more. They participate in data projects, resolve issues, and improve data quality.
Technical Reporting & Digital Integration (TRDI)
As one of the fastest-growing teams in TAS, TRDI leverages data and technical reporting for Production Optimisation, Maintenance Execution, Subsurface and Wells, as well as Health, Safety, Security and the Environment (HSSE).
Ultimately, TRDI digitalisation specialists provide valuable insights into Shell assets.
Deployment & Capability (D&C)
The Deployment & Capability team consists of Tech Specialists, Margin Optimisation Advisors, and other process excellence professionals who develop and maintain base chemical capabilities and constraints models.
Overall, they provide support, assurance, and improvement for both operational and long-term decisions.

- Send an application online: Explore Shell’s vacancies, and after finding a suitable role, apply online. Create an account on the site to receive updates on vacancies and help recruiters get in touch with you regarding career opportunities.
- Undergo an interview: If your application is successful, recruiters will arrange a telephone interview within two weeks. The interview may last between 45 minutes and an hour. It’s the perfect opportunity to ask more about the role and details of working at Shell.
- Complete the assessment: After passing the telephone interview, you will undergo an assessment within three weeks. It may be a professional or behaviour-based interview or a presentation to showcase your capabilities. The assessment may last around four hours.
After completing the assessment, recruiters will notify you of the outcome within a few days.
