Product overview
Alcohols are versatile chemical solvents used in a wide range of industrial and consumer applications. They are miscible with most other organic solvents and partially miscible in water.
MIBC is a colourless stable liquid with a medium odour. It has good solvent power for dissolving oils, waxes, gums, natural resins and cellulose but may also be used as a latent solvent within a solvent blend to alter performance characteristics such as drying/curing and viscosity/flow.
Applications where MIBC may be used include surface coatings, thinners, printing inks, adhesives, cosmetics, toiletries and cleaners. It may also be used in pharmaceuticals applications, for the extraction of vitamins and minerals, as wetting agents in lithographic printing and as chemical intermediates. MIBC can also be used in the production of lube oil additives, hydraulic fluids and plasticisers.
