As you have possibly heard, from January 2006 all Shell fuels in Southern Africa are going to change (and in fact be further improved!) due to the Government-initiated Clean Fuels Programme. Some of the changes include the phasing out of leaded fuel, the lowering of sulphur levels in diesel, and the launch of some brand new fuels in specific areas of the Shell network.

What has worked in our favour with these changes, is that Shell International has managed the phasing out of leaded petrol in over 50 markets worldwide. This has afforded us the opportunity to draw on this experience in order to ensure that all motorists in Southern Africa will continue to have high quality, safe and reliable fuels at all our Service Stations.

At Shell motorists will have a choice…
In order to effectively communicate Shell’s Cleaner Fuel plans, a comprehensive Cleaner Fuels campaign has been launched.  Every Shell service station in Southern Africa will have a trained fuel advisor from the 12th December 2005. The key role of the fuel advisor will be to inform you, the motorist, about the right fuel for your car. The Clean Fuels programme has given us an opportunity to align our fuels portfolio in Southern Africa with our global fuels strategy and at the same time give you a choice whenever you visit our Service Stations.
