Collaboration with governments, non-governmental organisations, other energy producers, industry bodies, consumers and local communities helps us in many different ways. It is a proven way to learn new things, share best practices, achieve specific objectives, set future goals, and build trust with the many different stakeholders who have an interest in our company.
We work in partnership in many areas – for example, to help us implement our investment in communities more effectively, to reduce our environmental impact, to protect biodiversity or to improve on specific areas of human rights. Partnerships are also essential to help enhance safety and environmental standards and practices within our industry.
In some cases, we maintain constructive partnerships even where there may be differences of opinion on broader issues. These collaborations can increase our ability to influence opinion and to explain our different viewpoint.
