Training and education of young Omanis have been and will remain key themes of our Social Investment Programme in Oman. In this regard, I’m pleased to see that more than 100 young Omanis enrolled in our “Training for Employment” scheme. This scheme identifies relevant job opportunities in the marketplace, then works in collaboration with the prospective employers to train suitable candidates for the jobs. Successful trainees are therefore guaranteed a position once they have completed their training.

Providing Omanis with education and skills needed to increase their employability and self-employment potential is seen as the most effective and valuable way that Shell can fulfil the objectives of sustainability and empowerment.
