Houston – The 29th annual Shell ROTELLA SuperRigs® competition will be held June 2-4 at the KENLY 95 Petro located at Exit 106 of Route I95 in Kenly, NC. The Shell ROTELLA SuperRigs® competition is the premier truck beauty contest for actively working trucks.  Owner/operator truckers from across the United States and Canada will compete for cash and prizes valued at approximately $25,000.  Additionally, 12 lucky drivers will be selected to have their truck featured in the 2012 Shell ROTELLA SuperRigs™ calendar.

“Shell ROTELLA SuperRigs® is highly anticipated by truckers each year, and the work and time the entrants take to prepare their awesome looking trucks make the event a success each year,” said XXXX, global brand manager, Shell Rotella.  “There are plenty of events planned that will provide fun and entertainment for entrants and their families, and help people to learn more about the Energized Protection offered by Shell Rotella® heavy duty engine oils. KENLY 95 Petro is a great location, and we look forward to having the community find out about the contributions the trucking industry makes to our country.”

There will be daily events and activities for Shell ROTELLA SuperRigs® attendees from Thursday through Saturday. Thursday night, Central Park Band, a seasoned professional dance band, will play a variety of popular music guaranteed to get people dancing.

Friday night at Shell ROTELLA SuperRigs® will be full of activities for contestants and their families.  A trucker’s parade will be held in Kenly at 6 p.m. and will showcase Shell ROTELLA® SuperRigs entrants.  The parade will proceed through downtown Kenly and will be followed by the annual contestant and family dinner at the Kenly 95 Petro.  The night will also include a fireworks show sponsored by Peterbilt Motors Company and the big rig light contest.  In addition, the five talented vocalists of UBU will perform a wide variety of music.

The National Tractor Pull Association (“NTPA”) Shell Rotella mini-modified tractor will be featured.  Puller Larry Koester, a multi-time NTPA mini-modified division champion, will be attending all three days of the event.  In addition, the Rotella Road Show, an event vehicle that uses visual demonstrations to highlight the capabilities and benefits of Shell Rotella® Energized Protection engine oils, will also be at the Shell ROTELLA SuperRigs® event.

Trucks entered in Shell ROTELLA SuperRigs® are judged by industry professionals who work for major trucking publications or broadcast companies. Judges score the rigs on exterior appearance, design, detail/finish, originality, and workmanship.  In total, 24 working trucks receive awards for categories such as Best of Show, Tractor, Tractor/Trailer Combination and Classic.

The truck beauty contest is free to all participants.  Every entrant, or while supplies last, will receive a gift package consisting of one gallon of Shell Rotella® T Triple Protection® engine oil; one gallon of Shell Rotella® ELC Extended Life Coolant; a single application tube of Shell Retinax Fifth Wheel Grease; Shell ROTELLA SuperRigs t-shirt and hat; and a 2011 Shell ROTELLA SuperRigs™ calendar.
