Shell honors winning teams of the First Pre-Engineering Design Competition in Kuwait
The winning teams won over 23 school teams, which each showed off their individual designs for a catapult in front of a panel of judges. Each winning team received a cash award, and the team with the best overall creative design also received a trophy for each team member.
The winning teams were Town Boys Team from New English School, The Elite Team and Sharma UAS Team from Universal American School.
Commenting on the competition, Shell’s Chairman in Kuwait, Mr. Ahmed Mouti said: “We at Shell are very proud that the first Pre-Engineering Design Competition attracted such a high number entries, and engaged the ideas and imaginations of so many smart, active and enthusiastic students.
“First and foremost, congratulations to the winning teams, but I would also like to say that the general standard of entry was exceptionally high and all the teams should be highly commended for their efforts.
This first Pre-Engineering Design competition was a great success and we are looking to build on this by holding the next Pre-Engineering Design competition later this year with a new set of practical engineering and design challenges for students to consider and resolve.”
