Cultural Workshop
A presentation was given in which it introduced and educated the attendees on the background information of Kuwait and the Middle East, cultural norms and behaviors, cultural differences, the Kuwaiti business norms, laws of entertainment, and finally an overview of the laws and consequences.
The workshop started off with an introduction by Mr. Gordon Murrihead, Operational Manager of Shell Kuwait Exploration and Production, followed by a safety briefing, reminding the employees of the importance of road safety. The second segment of the workshop was the backbone of the event which was presented by two local employees at KSL: Ms. Buthaina Al-Khubaizi, CX Manager and Mr. Hamad Al-Qenaei, HR Analyst. They directly presented the Kuwaiti culture and how to deal with Kuwaiti locals keeping in mind the norms of the Kuwaiti traditions.
The interaction of the attendees was magnificent. There were a lot of questions which showed the employees’ great interest on knowing more about the Kuwaiti culture and how to perfectly fit in. The employers were also given an opportunity to evaluate the workshop in terms of personal benefit, they found it both entertaining and educating. At the end of the workshop, the Al-Americani Cultural Centre staff gave KSL and SKEP employees an exclusive tour of the ‘Treasury of the World’ exhibition as a way of appreciation to the staff of Shell in Kuwait.
