Our job application process involves four simple steps. First, find a vacancy. Then apply online. Next, we may arrange for an interview, which happens over the phone. Following this, the final step is an assessment. Start now by taking a look at our vacancies.
Step 1 - Find a job
Look through our current vacancies. If you find the right job for you, click the “Send your application online” button. If you don’t find a suitable vacancy, you can sign up to create a search agent (in English) and join our Shell Talent Community (in English) for updates on major projects and conferences in your field. Our recruiters may also get in touch when they have a suitable vacancy for you.
Step 2 - Apply
If you’ve sent us your CV before, you can go straight to your personal profile and submit an application. If you’ve not been in touch, please register and create a profile. You can then submit your application. You should get confirmation that we’ve received it within 48 hours. You can check the status of your application by logging on and clicking the ‘”Application Status” link.
Step 3 - Interview
If your application is successful, in most instances we arrange for an interview to take place roughly within two weeks from when we received your application. This usually takes 45 minutes to an hour over the telephone. You'll have the chance to ask us questions about the role, what it’s like working at Shell or any other details relating to the job.
Step 4 - Assessment
If your interview is successful, we invite you for an assessment within around three weeks. This takes up to four hours. It comprises a behavioural based structured interview, a professional interview or presentation assessing your competencies and, in some instances, a scenario-based exercise. You can ask us anything you want to know more about, such as rewards and benefits. We will try to notify you of the outcome within a few days.
Please note that timings are indicative. A high volume of applications can result in the process taking a little longer. Neither Shell, nor any organisation that recruits on our behalf, asks for any money or payments from applicants at any point in the application process. Everyone who is successful in gaining an offer of employment from Shell, either directly or indirectly, is required to go through a formal recruitment process.
