Getting road safety right and returning home safely is a top priority.
Whether it is transporting fuel to our customers, delivering equipment to construction sites or simply travelling to meetings, safe road transportation is integral to our business. Shell’s global road safety programme focuses on improving the safety of our drivers – staff and contractors - and contributing to road safety in the communities where we operate. The programme has resulted in a significant improvement in Shell’s road safety performance.

The Driver Behaviour Indicator helps assign specific behavioural based learning modules.
Journey management planning
Training materials have been developed by Shell to support contractors in implementing effective Journey Management Planning amongst their workforce.
Vehicle rollover prevention
Vehicle Rollover Prevention training will focus on vehicle rollovers and will answer question such as: what is a vehicle rollover, why do they happen and what control measures can you take to prevent a rollover from happening.
Driver fatigue management
Globally, it is estimated that driver fatigue is a contributing factor in up to 20% of all road traffic incidents. A training pack has been developed to provide fatigue management training to drivers and their supervisors.

Tools and materials are available to help implement a road safety management system and increase road safety awareness amongst contractor staff.
