With 80 percent of all Americans living within five miles of a Shell-branded gasoline station, Shell and Motiva serve, on average, more than 4.5 million customers per day and sell about 18 billion gallons of gasoline per year, according to Lundberg Survey, Inc.

 Nearly 14,000 Shell-branded gas stations are the most visible presence of Shell in the U.S. to the general public. Shell Oil Products US has a network of about 6,000 branded gasoline stations in the western United States. Motiva Enterprises LLC, a 50/50 joint venture between Shell Oil Company and Saudi Refining, Inc., refines and markets branded products through nearly 8,000 Shell-branded stations in the eastern and southern United States. With a presence in 50 states, Shell ranks No. 1 in the industry in branded gas stations, and at 11.7 percent, Shell also ranks No. 1 in total gallons sold in the United States through July 2006, as reported by Lundberg. Over 14.7 million people purchase gasoline using the Shell proprietary credit card and the Shell MasterCard® from Citi® Cards.
