A good example of the range of activities designed to promote safety on the road is the “Shell-Land Transport Department Traffic Park”. At the Traffic Park, Shell in collaboration with the Land Transport Department, Ministry of Transport and Communications, organize traffic games and training to foster safety awareness, road discipline and etiquette to school children. |
Shell has set up a Defensive Driving Centre to train its own staff and those of its affiliates. It has also provided training courses for personnel of both government and private agencies that have shown interest in the programme. A few examples are : - A training course on how to use motorcycles and private cars properly and safely for students of the Prince of Songkhla, Chiangmai and Khon Kaen Universities. -.A training course organised jointly with the Ministry of Public Health for ambulance drivers to help increase their safety awareness and efficiency on the road. |

Therefore, Shell has very strict fire prevention plans, fire drills and life-saving measures in the event of a fire in its offices and installations throughout the country. Shell has also extended its fire training service to surrounding communities to help teach the residents how to prevent and cope with a fire. In addition, Shell has installed fire-fighting equipment worth Bht.700,000.- in the community to enable the people to handle a fire at the beginning stage. |
