Graduates & Students - Rewards and Benefits

printable version

Shell is made up of a great many independent businesses and, across the board, we offer competitive starting salaries. Performance-related pay and bonuses ensure that individual contribution is rewarded and your salary will be regularly reviewed during your early career.

Competitive and benchmarked renumeration

We regularly review our salaries and overall renumeration packages (including business performance bonuses) to ensure that all of our employees are being rewarded at competitive levels.

Global Employee Share Purchase Plan

The Global Employee Share Purchase Plan gives eligible employees the opportunity to buy shares in one of the Parent Companies - Royal Dutch or Shell Transport. The shares are held within the Plan on behalf of participants. If the shares bought with the employee's contributions during a twelve month period are kept within the Plan for the following fifteen months, he or she will be given additional shares. The number of additional shares is 15% of the number of shares that the employee kept within the Plan. This Plan operates in conjunction with the local Employee Share and Save Scheme.

Superannuation

Superannuation is an important part of every employee's remuneration and long term financial savings plan. It is a systematic way of putting money aside during your working life to provide you with financial security in retirement. We offer employees an attractive accumulation superannuation scheme, which means that your superannuation accumulates with contribution and investment returns (interest), whilst administration fees and insurance costs (if applicable) are deducted from your account.

Product Discounts

Employees eligible for a discount off the retail price of motor vehicle fuels (petrol, diesel, automotive LPG) for purchases made for private use from Shell-branded retail outlets.

Relocation

We contribute to the costs of new recruits moving to their new location. This may include, among other benefits, travel to the new location, cost of the removal of household and personal effects, temporary accommodation and a relocation allowance.

Social Club

Each Shell location has a social club (The Shell Club) that provides members with access to an enormous range of events and services. The Club's wide range of events varies from sports days to happy hours to Christmas parties for employees and their families. The Club Shop in the Melbourne Office offers snack food and services such as dry-cleaning, photo-processing, video hire, stamps, greeting cards, Met cards and movie tickets.
