You already know the famous Shell name. After all, we have been bringing high quality fuels to our customers since 1912. Currently there are approximately 56,000 Shell Service Stations across the world, serving some 25 million customers every day. In Indonesia alone, until now, we have over 32 Stations in our network, delivering world-class fuels, oils, and a choice of quality products. The number will still increase in the future.

A major commitment

 

Running your own Service Station/s is hard work. But having said that, it can also be extremely rewarding. After all, there is nothing like the satisfaction of seeing your own business succeed. It is also a major commitment. Running several stations (a cluster) is an even bigger commitment.  Remember that many Service Stations are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year, so it’s really a big commitment.  All the time you will need to manage, motivate and inspire every member of your team to achieve excellence.

 

This is why great leadership skills are so important, not to mention high levels of self-motivation, a ‘can-do’ approach and the ability to keep every aspect of your business well organised. Above all though, you must be the kind of individual who gets on well with all kinds of people. Your customers are the lifeblood of your business, and keeping them happy and returning to your Station/s again and again is the most important skill you’ll bring.


 

How it all works

 

In simple terms, we will work closely with you. As a self employed Retailer, you bring your skills, abilities and commitment. In return, we supply full training, products and support. The emphasis is very much on working together and growing the business together. There are regular business reviews with your local Territory Manager to give you support and to ensure that you are maximising all business opportunities.

 

Shell Indonesia is committed to:

  • Providing a comprehensive range of quality fuels, lubricants and convenience products and
  • Satisfying customers with superior service, which is consistent with Shell's standards of excellence.


Investment

 

We will provide you with the opportunity to operate your own business. There will of course be an initial investment you’ll need to make. Your return on investment will depend on several factors including the size and location of the site and your success with fuel and ancillary sales.

 

You must be a committed and involved Retailer  in order to gain repeat business and establish customer loyalty. These commitments will help you to achieve greater success.

Starting a retail business can be very rewarding. It is however very important to understand and appreciate all of the elements involved in becoming a successful Retailer.

  • Do I have the communication skills necessary to deal with customers and staff?
  • Do I have a high level of enthusiasm and energy?
  • Do I display a professional, winning attitude?
  • Could I adapt quickly to the changing retail environment in innovative ways?
  • Do I have the financial resources necessary to become involved in a Shell retail opportunity?
  • Am I willing to devote as much time and energy as required to manage the business?
