Dear colleague, This year, Shell in the U.S. is taking hurricane preparedness to the next level to encompass all emergency situations, including earthquakes, floods, and tornadoes, through our nationwide Emergency Preparedness program. The 2007 Emergency Preparedness program stresses the importance of following standardized protocols, procedures, policies and guidelines in the event of any emergency, not just hurricanes. As a reminder, the day following any emergency or natural disaster, all Shell and Motiva employees that reside or work within the impacted area are required to call either: 1.877.40.SHELL (1.877.407.4355) or 1.866.745.5489 For those employees located in hurricane-prone areas, please visit the Hurricane Center at either http://sww.shell.com/us/hurricane or www.shell.com/us/hurricane for important updates and information. Please find enclosed our Emergency Preparedness Kit, which includes: - Are You Ready? Emergency Preparedness badge cards (Shell and Motiva)
- Are You Ready? Emergency Preparedness refrigerator magnets (Shell and Motiva)
- 2007 Are You Ready? Emergency Preparedness pocket guide
- Emergency Preparedness and Office Closure Procedures (cross-business)
By following the protocols and procedures presented in the Emergency Preparedness program, you are helping Shell in the U.S. honor our commitment to safety. I hope you find these items useful in preparing you and your family in the case of emergency. The safety of you and your family are our top priority in any crisis or emergency situation. Sincerely, John Hofmeister U.S. Country Chair President, Shell Oil Company
