Shell Oil Company offers scholarships to selected students pursuing a four-year college degree in certain engineering or geosciences disciplines at certain colleges as described herein. Scholarship recipients will be selected on a competitive basis by a selection committee and will be notified of their award by late summer after the submission of their application.

To qualify you must: - Be a US citizen or authorized to work on a full-time basis in the United States.
Enroll full-time as a sophomore, junior, or senior in one of the institutions.- Have a minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA, which must be maintained throughout your participation in the program.
- Major in one of the following disciplines: geology, geophysics or physics; chemical, civil, electrical, mechanical, petroleum, geological or geophysical engineering
- Renewal of the scholarship is contingent upon the student remaining qualified and accepting a Shell Oil Company internship if offered prior to December 1st of the funding year.

Undergraduate $5,000 per year (4-year renewable scholarship or until bachelor’s degree requirements are completed, whichever occurs first).

Please read carefully the instructions below prior to completing the scholarship questionnaire and on-line application. - Application period is September 1 to February 28.
Download the technical scholarship questionnaire.- Mail the completed questionnaire with degree plan and letters of recommendation to Shell Oil Company, Attention: Terry Garland, Shell Scholarship Administrator, 910 Louisiana, Suite 4476C, Houston, TX 77002.
o The completed degree plan must be signed by your College Counselor or Advisor. o Two letters of recommendation which includes contact information of the writer. -- First letter should be provided by a guidance counselor, teacher, or school official who is familiar with student’s academic work. -- Second letter may come from an employer or from a personal contact (not a friend, classmate, or family member) that has knowledge of your activities outside the classroom (e.g., work experience, community service, extracurricular activities, etc.). - To be considered for the Shell Oil Company Technical Scholarship award, candidates must complete an on-line application. Candidates should include a resume and an unofficial transcript as attachments to the on-line application. - Upon receiving the completed scholarship questionnaire and on-line application, the application will be screened. Selected candidates will be scheduled for interviews in person or via telephone.
After successfully completing the application and Shell interview process, the candidate will be notified to forward an official college transcript. - The transcript must include grades of the recent fall semester completed. (Scholarship will be awarded in the upcoming fall semester.)
All phases of the application process must be completed and received by February 28 to be considered for the scholarship award. Scholarship checks will be sent directly to the college listed on the recipient’s application and distributed by the scholarship office located at that college.
