Dermot was appointed Head of UK Government Relations in January 2007. He is responsible for managing relations with the UK Government and external stakeholders such as NGOs and think tanks. He represents Shell on a number of external organisations. Born in Glasgow, Dermot joined Shell in 1999, initially working at the Fife NGL Plant at Mossmorran. From 2001 to 2004, he was responsible for stakeholder relations at Shell’s exploration and production business in Europe. In 2004 he was appointed Head of UK External Affairs. Dermot is an urban planner and has worked in the private, public and NGO sectors in this capacity prior to joining Shell in 1999.
