Shell has been active in Brunei since 1929, when the first commercial oil find was made by the British Malayan Petroleum Company, the forerunner of Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP). Today, there are four Brunei Shell joint venture companies: BSP, Brunei LNG, Brunei Shell Tankers and Brunei Shell Marketing employing about 14,0000 staff and contractors. One of our biggest projects in the country is the  Champion West project where our Smart Field Technology is helping us to unlock complex oil and gas reservoirs.
