Shell Trading supports the Shell businesses, in particular Oil Products, Gas & Power and Chemicals, by trading natural gas, electrical power, crude oil, refined products, chemical feedstocks and environmental products. We also manage one of the world's largest fleets of Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) carriers and oil tankers.

We sell crude oil to a wide range of customers within and outside Shell, and are active in most of the major crude oil markets. Our global trading network gives us a 24-hour market presence. Shell trades natural gas and power around the world. Our 50 years’ experience in the natural gas industry makes us one of the world’s most experienced marketers. Our supply portfolio includes the largest equity share of liquefied natural gas (LNG) of any international company.
Seventeen companies are at the heart of Shell Trading – with another 40 Shell companies around the world utilising Trading’s maritime expertise.
Shell Trading companies operate around the world, with the main trading and marketing locations including Houston, London, Dubai, Rotterdam and Singapore. Shell Energy Trading manages Shell’s European gas and power trading and CO2 trading globally, and Shell Energy North America (USA) markets Shell’s North American natural gas production, which benefits from access to power generation and gas storage assets. It employs more than 700 energy professionals and serves public and private utilities, commercial and industrial companies, energy buyers and producers.
Shell Trading’s aim is to create value to Shell’s shareholders using three levers: first, as the group’s primary trading and shipping network; secondly, trading for profit for the group in the external markets; and finally, providing centres of excellence for the management of commodity price/exposure risk and shipping operations and technology.

Shell Trading in North America
Shell Trading US conducts a substantial trading-for-profit business, which includes the buying and selling of crude oil, finished products and feedstocks, as well as trading oil futures. Shell Energy is among the largest wholesale energy marketers and traders in North America and provides a comprehensive portfolio of energy-related products and services.
