Shell Ship Management Limited (SSML), based in the Isle of Man, is the principal manning support business of Shell International Trading and Shipping Company Limited (STASCO) and performs contractual and administrative services on behalf of Shell International Shipping Services Limited (SISS). SSML's primary business concern is to resource, develop, manage and supply marine personnel with the skills and technical know-how essential for the safe seaborne carriage of cargoes for Shell's expanding Oil and Gas Businesses.

- SSML, on behalf of SISS, manage the career paths of more than 900 serving fleet Officers and Cadets around the Globe. Additionally, we manage in excess of 700 fleet Ratings via our partners overseas.
- SSML provide manning services for Shell for approx. 50 internationally trading vessels, ranging from 10,000 MT product carriers to 300,000 MT Very Large Crude Carriers, additionally the portfolio includes a comprehensive list of Liquified Natural Gas Carriers.
- During a 12 month period, in excess of 1,500 seafarer appointments and reliefs have been organised.
- SSML can call upon the experience and expertise of a large pool of trained professionals to resource marine related positions around the Globe.
- SSML have received and processed more than 4,500 applications for situations vacant in the past 12 months.
- In addition to the continuous on-board training programme for all fleet staff, over the past 12 months SSML have arranged additional shore-side training for more than 550 Officers.
- SSML are directly responsible for the training of over 150 Merchant Navy Cadets, for Shell and for other clients.
- During the last 12 months SSML have, in conjuction with our service provider, arranged over 9,000 air-travel passenger movements with respect to seafarer reliefs, officer training courses and special travel.
