Petrol Prices in Singapore

Petrol prices in Singapore have risen in the past 2 years. However the increase in Singapore has been less than many countries in the world due to increased local competition.

 

Singapore's (red line) petrol prices are far from being the most expensive in the world... European countries remain at the high end.

The chart above clearly shows that Singapore petrol prices have risen in the past few years with similar movements upwards as experienced in other markets but less than average compared to developed economies.

 

Prices of petrol in Singapore are still competitive compared to other countries.

Singapore prices are very competitive compared to many developed economies however they are higher than some countries  due to a number of reasons. For example, Malaysia where prices are regulated, Australia and the US where different tax structure and economies of scale applies.
