The Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) has been operating in Nigeria for over 50 years (Shell share 30%). Currently SPDC produces oil and gas from both onshore and offshore reserves. In the Niger Delta, Shell is working to overcome security challenges, with attacks on facilities and threats to staff. And, as with all our operations, we aim to minimise any negative impact on local communities and the environment.
Social performance
We support national social investment programmes and a number of state and private development projects.
Security
We are constantly working to ensure the safety of our staff and security of our facilities.
