Goal 5: Improve maternal health
Women are exposed to a disproportionately high share of indoor air pollution because of traditional biomass fuels that are used for cooking. A cleaner burning and ready source of fuel can reduce these health risks and allow more time for childcare or work outside the home. In addition, modern energy helps improve health for women by powering water pumps and providing essential energy to run medical centres and hospitals.
