Reporting openly
We have voluntarily reported on our environmental and social performance since 1997. Why? Because it matters to our stakeholders and to our business success. Reporting in an honest and transparent way helps build trust and motivates staff and business partners to improve their performance.

Our approach to reporting
We are committed to report honestly and openly about the issues that matter most. We have systems in place to ensure this.
External Review Committee
We use an independent external review committee to guarantee the quality, balance and relevance of our reporting, following the AA1000 standard.
Reporting in line with the Global Reporting Initiative
We are A+ reporters (GRI checked) under the ‘G3’ guidelines from the Global Reporting Initiative. Learn how we report against each of the GRI indicators:
The UN Global Compact with business
We have been a member of the UN Global Compact since it started, and we report our progress toward its ten principles. Read about the Global Compact’s four areas:
Shell and external voluntary codes
In addition to our own Shell Business Principles, our reporting is guided by the major external voluntary codes and principles that Shell supports.
