What is Shell Super Unleaded E10?

Shell Super Unleaded E10 is a new unleaded gasoline formulated with 10% ethanol.

 

Shell Super Unleaded E10 contains a specially formulated base fuel specifically designed to accommodate 10% ethanol. The additional oxygen provided by the ethanol can help to improve combustion and ethanol itself is a cleaner burning component than gasoline. Motorists can fill up with Shell Super Unleaded E10 at selected Shell sites.

E10 is a term that indicates the gasoline contains 10% ethanol.

Why did Shell launch Super Unleaded E10?

The launch of this fuel is in support of the Philippine government’s bioethanol programme to encourage motorists to use ethanol-blended gasoline in order to reduce oil imports and help develop the economy.

 

The Philippines is currently working to have its first ethanol plants in various parts of the country in the very near future. This will bring us closer to reducing dependence on imported oil. More importantly, it will expand opportunities for livelihood in the countryside that can contribute to the Philippines’ sustainable growth.

However, customers are advised to check their vehicle handbooks and follow the guidance given—especially for older vehicles (pre-1990).

Can Shell Super Unleaded E10 be mixed with other gasoline?
