The lubrication of open gears is a complex task which requires both the right lubricant and the right service. Equipment design and variable operating conditions make correct lubricant application and monitoring of open gear conditions is critical.

Lubrication System Inspection and Adjustment - For an open gear lubricant to perform correctly it must be applied evenly across the tooth flanks in the correct quantity. Shell specialists inspect, adjust and confirm the correct operation of the lubrication system.

Vibration Level Monitoring and Analysis - Vibration levels are a good indicator of rotating machinery condition and can help identify faults. Shell specialists conduct periodic monitoring of pinion bearing vibration levels allowing the equipment condition to be tracked and alerts to be given at the first sign of problems.

Tooth Flank Temperature Monitoring - Tooth flank temperatures of the pinion and girth gear can be taken when the machine is operating with a non-contact thermometer to confirm the alignment.

Tooth Flank Analysis - Shell specialists can inspect the open gear tooth flanks when they are operating using a stroboscope and also under static conditions during maintenance shutdowns. Inspections can identify early signs of damage allowing action to be taken before the damage become serious.

General Inspection Services - Inspection of all open gear related systems including the pinion and girth gear mountings, dust sealing and waste grease drainage are carried out to identify faults before damage can occur.

Inspection Reporting - After each inspection a comprehensive report including vibration and temperature data, current conditions, photographic documentation and recommendations is provide to the customer.

Flue Gas Analysis provides cost effective analysis of exhaust emissions in industrial plants in response to the Philippine Clean Air Act.

We measures O2, CO2, and CO accurately, quickly and reliably. We can also measure NO, NO2, SO2. Flue Gas Analysis is suitable for both emission analysis, control and for adjusting larger industrial furnaces. It also has a large measuring range for process control in industrial furnaces and a high accuracy level (even in the lower measuring ranges) for limit value control.

Shell promotes safe and environmentally-friendly methods of used oil/sludge disposal. In the Philippines we have identified incineration and burning of used oil/sludge in cement kilns as one of the most environmentally sound options.

We offer this service through a dedicated supplier who will process used oil/sludge from Shell customers and dispose of it by incineration in a cement kiln.
