What type of motors can be converted to LPG?

Does the speed and performance change?

Older LPG conversion kits resulted in a decrease in performance by 5% on higher rpms but for the newer electronic injection systems, performance in comparison to gasoline is the same.

Is there higher vehicle consumption?

LPG has a specific energy lower than gasoline; the increase in consumption is around 15%-25%.

Will I notice a difference when driving my car on Auto LPG?

Most drivers will notice no difference between gasoline and Auto LPG. And there is no emission, no smoke, no carbon exhaust "smell", and the engine is quiet. The higher octane of LPG results in smoother combustion. This also eliminates the need for fuel additives.

How do I know how much gas is left in the tank?

The system uses a switch for changing between gasoline and LPG. Incorporated in this switch is a series of indicators which will indicate the level of gas in the tank.

How long will it take to convert my vehicle?

It depends on the engine condition of the vehicle. A standard conversion can be finished in a day (always use reputable kits and a trained engine converter).

How can Auto LPG and gasoline work in the same engine?

Although gasoline is in a liquid state, it is converted to gas prior to combustion. Because LPG is naturally aspirated into an automobile engine in a gaseous form, it burns much more efficiently than gasoline.

What is Dual Fuel System?

You can start and run the vehicle with either gas or gasoline by using an electronic change over switch provided on the dashboard of the vehicle.

Where is the Auto LPG Tank placed in the car?

It is permanently fixed in the boot of the car in most cases.

How much space will it occupy?

It will occupy about 1/5 of the trunk space.

Will an excess load affect my car suspension?

No, a car is designed to carry sufficient load. The weight of LPG and canister is a little over above the weight of gasoline that it will be replacing.

Should the vehicle be started with Gasoline or Auto LPG?

Vehicles can be started on either. There is no difference to the normal operation of the car.

How much does the conversion cost?

Based on 2002 costings, the entire kit, cylinder, and labor for roughly P18,000.

How long does it take to recover the investment?

Based on studies, it would take 1 to 1.5 years to recover the conversion investment.
