 Spramul SS-1h is a slow-setting anionic asphalt emulsion which can be used as a tack coat or fog seal. Tack coating is one of the major uses of Spramul SS-1h. A light application of diluted emulsion is used to ensure a bond between a surface being paved and the new course. It is used to guarantee adhesion of hot mix or cold mix asphalt overlay to existing paved roads. As a fog seal, Spramul SS-1h is diluted with water similar to a tack seal, but used to renew old road surfaces that have deteriorated. Used to fill tiny cracks and surface voids and to inhibit ravelling, no other surface treatment is required after application as a fog seal.
