Shell companies in the Philippines would like to warn staff and the public on recurring incidents involving the fraudulent recruitment of organisations on behalf of Shell or an affiliate company of a job placement or an employment offer from a Shell company. Normally, the message contains details informing the recipient that he/she has been appointed to work with the company and a review of the resume/CV and an online interview of contacted expatriates has been made. It also contains the job details, remuneration package including allowances and medical and health insurances, employee assistance programme, and long-term disability benefits, tuition fee reimbursement, and family status arrangements among others. |
Please be informed that everyone who is offered employment from a Shell company, whether directly or indirectly, is always required to go through a formal recruitment process. There have been incidents where fraudsters pretend to recruit on behalf of Shell or where people claim to work for, or be affiliated to Shell. One way to recognise their scam emails is to check the email address: because these mails are usually not sent from a Shell email account they often do not end with "@shell.com" but for example, "yahoo.com" or "hotmail.com". Very often they also use poor English or, at some stage, request money from the recipient. We recommend that you do not respond to these scam emails or any email you do not trust and never disclose your personal or financial details to anyone you do not know. If you receive such proposals, we would advise you to contact your local police and provide them with all information you may have from the senders.
