Six players have so far gained spots in the grand finals of the country's biggest talent search from both the chess-playing students and out-of-school youths. Ateneo’s Jan Garcia and Letran’s Loren Brigham Laceste lead the cast in the competition’s 20-and-under category, while La Salle’s Paulo Bersamina and Jan Nigel Galan head the 14-and-under category with victories in the NCR and Tuguegarao legs, respectively. The top three winners in both divisions of each leg advance to the grand finals in Manila on November 8-9 at SM Megamall, with the national junior champion to receive P30,000 plus trophy and the kiddies winner to get P20,000 plus trophy.The other Southern Luzon eliminations will be held on August 2-3 in Naga, the fourth leg of the circuit.
