In support of the mission of helping street children, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation (Pilipinas Shell) and Metro Container Corporation (Metrocan) donated 1,000 tin cans to Childhope Asia Philippines (CHAP) for its coin bank drive. The tin cans will be placed in food establishments, banks, and convenience stores in order to raise funds for programs that promote alternative education opportunities and psychosocial support for street children (including value clarification, basic literacy and numeracy, para-legal education, educational assistance, non formal education, sports & recreation, health education and counselling). CHAP President and Executive Director Teresita Silva accepted the donation from Pilipinas Shell Lubricants Supply Chain Manager Eric Piedad in a simple turnover ceremony held on August 30, 2005 at the Executive Dining Room of Shell House in Makati City.
