Shell DoE CNG MOA Signing

26/01/2005

Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation President Edgar O. Chua and Department of Energy Undersecretary Peter Anthony A. Abaya recently signed the supplement to the memorandum of agreement (MoA) that would finally make the compressed natural gas (CNG) available to public transport buses. This project is meant to supply public transport buses with natural gas produced by the Malampaya Deep Water Gas to Power project offshore under the government’s natural gas vehicle program.

The supplement to the MoA seeks to finalise the negotiated CNG pricing for the benefit of public transport bus operators.

DoE Secretary Vincent Perez (2nd from left) led the signing of the supplemental agreement together with (from left) Abaya, Chua, and Pilipinas Shell Vice President for Retail Samuel De Guzman.

Government Relations Manager Cris Acosta representing the Malampaya Consortium, PNOC - Exploration Corp. President Rufino Bomasang and Pilipinas Shell Retail Regional Sales Manager-North Luzon Jojo Gesmundo together with owners and operators of public transport buses and officials and staff from the Department of Energy.
