Private sector helps disaster victims

The Corporate Network for Disaster Response (CNDR), together with the Department of Energy and the energy companies, unify to extend a helping hand to the victims of recent calamities.

 

NDCC Turnover

In a simple handover ceremony dubbed as 'Sagip-buhay, Enerhiya'y Kaagapay' held at Camp Aguinaldo on 23 December 2004, CNDR turned over the relief

goods and check donation amounting to 9 million pesos to National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC). The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Dinky Soliman and the Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Avelino Cruz received the donations.

 

In recognition of the efforts of the energy sector, the NDCC gave each representative of the companies a plaque of appreciation. Shell companies in the Philippines Country Chairman and President Edgar Chua received the plaque on behalf of Shell.

 

Present at the handover ceremony were representatives from Pilipinas Shell, Unocal, Quezon Power Phils. Limited Co., Petron Corp., CalEnergy International, CBK Power Company Limited, PMR Group, First Gas, Kepco Ilijan Corp., Kepco Electric Power Corp., Mirant, and Northwest Airlines.
