The Gold Quill awards-the highest level of professional acknowledgment within business communication around the globe-were for Impok Pang-Kalusugan (IpK) Micro-Health Insurance Program for the communication management category and The Malampaya Documentary Series for the communication skills category.

IpK, a save-for-health program, aims to create an environment where health care financing needs and health care services will be affordable to the TALIM communities, thus contributing to the improvement of residents' health status. TALIM stands for Tabangao, Ambulong, Libjo, San Isidro & Malitam-the five barangays surrounding the Malampaya OnShore Gas Plant facility in Tabangao, Batangas.

The documentary series, on the other hand, is a compilation of videos that highlight the entire process undertaken in developing the Malampaya Project and the successful social development programs undertaken jointly by SPEX and Pilipinas Shell Foundation Inc. (PSFI) where Malampaya operates.

Previous Gold Quill Awards obtained by Malampaya in 2003 and 2004 were: Award of Merit for Photography entitled "Images of Malampaya", Award of Excellence for the Economic, Social and Environmental Development category entitled "Malampaya: A Model of Sustainable Development in Action", Award of Excellence for Community Relations for Kilusan Ligtas Malaria and an Award of Merit for Production and business communications category for the Malampaya Virtual Exhibit.#
