Shell joins the 40th ANVIL Awards winners circle

Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation's (Pilipinas Shell) entry entitled The Shell National Students Art Competition (SNSAC) was one of the 27 winning entries out of 71 entries to the 40th ANVIL Awards.  Pilipinas Shell's entry received the Award of Merit during the awarding ceremonies held on March 11, 2005 at the Hotel Intercontinental Manila in Makati City.

 

Entered under the category Public Affairs (Arts and Culture), the entry depicted the valuable contribution of the SNSAC in promoting the development of arts and culture in the country as well as in nurturing the artistic minds of young Filipino artist through visual arts.

 

The entry also highlighted the various methods adopted by P ilipinas Shell to inspire the Filipino youth to showcase their talents through the annual competition.  Since the inception  of SNSAC in 1951 , the annual event managed by the External Affairs group of  Pilipinas Shell , has produced impressive list of eminent artists including Jose Joya, Ang Kiukok, Ben Cabrera, Danny Dalena, Federico Aguilar Alcuaz, Fernando Sena, Junyee, and Charito Bitanga among others.

 

40th ANVIL Board of Jurors Chairman Honorable Manuel Roxas, 40th ANVIL Awards Committee Joel Lacsamana (Manila Water Company), Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) President Jones Campos (Globe Telecoms President) handed over the award to Pilipinas Shell Sustainable Development Manager Mylene Santos together with Shell Balita team Jocelyn Diana and Jun Jay Jimenez.

 

Last year, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation won an Award of Merit for "Shell companies in the Philippines (SciP) Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) Program" under the Institutional and Corporate Public Relations (PR) programs category.

 

Dubbed as the "Oscars of Public Relations", the Anvil Awards are given by the PRSP to the best public relations programs and tools implemented during the past year. A tightly contested and prestigious recognition, the Anvil was participated by over 70 entries this year by the country's top corporations and government agencies.
