LiveWire Nigeria

LiveWIRE is an International youth enterprise development programme. The goal of LiveWIRE Nigeria, (officially launched in 2003) is to encourage and support youth development, specifically to help young people become interested in setting up businesses and working for themselves.

Although LiveWIRE is a Shell programme, it is usually implemented by a partner organisation (normally a Non-Governmental, Non-Profit Organization). The Live WIRE Nigeria Programme is at present, wholly funded by the NNPC/Shell JV and implemented by Community Development Foundation (CDF). It currently operates in seven Niger Delta States (Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Imo, Abia and Akwa-Ibom).

	Objectives and Content To encourage and support youth development specifically to help young people become interested in setting up businesses and working for themselves.

	Achievements Capacity Building: Trained a total of 2,119 youths comprising of Delta State Govt. Partnership, LiveWIRE Regional Programme, LiveWIRE EGGS 1 Programme,

	Success Stories Live WIRE Produced one of the recipients of the 2007 Central Bank of Nigeria’s 'Young Entrepreneur of the Year' Award.

	How to Participate As a participant: Live WIRE adverts are usually made through handbills, posters and newspapers. Intending participants can watch out for this. The entry point is the Bright Ideas Workshop
