Sustainable Development Grants 2009

The Shell Malaysia Sustainable Development (SD) Grants scheme is open to Malaysian NGOs, international NGOs with a Malaysian chapter, academic institutions, schools, societies and individuals based in Malaysia.


The SD Grants scheme is divided into 2 categories:

  1. Environmental Conservation – projects to conserve biodiversity, natural resources and ecosystems, including forests, wetlands, mangroves, coral reefs, peat swamps. These projects may be terrestrial, marine, estuarine, freshwater or aerial in nature.
  2. Sustainable Livelihood – projects for the development of the poor and/or community livelihood.

 


The panel of judges will award points based on the following criteria:

  • Practicality
  • Benefits
  • Financial need
  • Sustainability
  • Originality

 


The grants application is open from 9 April 2009 and all entries must reach Shell Malaysia by 30 September 2009.

    (1) Environmental Conservation

  • Project name
  • Summary of project of not more than 500 words, and must include: 
    a. Objectives
    b. Location
    c. Time frame
    d. Outstanding characteristics (eg: benefits)
    e. Long-term aim
    f. Financial need 
  • Budget/financial details of the project (please indicate the part of the project on which the grant will be invested)

Please attach the following reference material in the application, where applicable. The reference material will be used as background information only, and points will not be awarded for this section.

  • Testimonial or past project reports
