Our commitment to the community is evident through our strong commitment to quality.

Commitment to quality is top priority within Shell MDS. The Shell MDS Quality Management System is implemented based on ISO 9002 standard and is a structured framework of controls, extending from management level to task level, to ensure business activities meet objectives, whilst allowing for continuous improvement in performance.

Complementing this system is the Good Manufacturing Practices to specifically ensure our waxes meet the United States Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) regulations for use in food contact applications. Our policy of strict quality assurance is manifested in constant control and monitoring of manufacturing processes, from incoming raw materials to finished goods.

The Shell MDS laboratory performs a wide range of analysis on process and product samples. These include feed and process gases, water and effluent discharge, distillates, specialties and waxes. The range of tests vary from simple density and titration to sophisticated carbon number distribution applying Gas Chromotographic techniques.

The Shell MDS laboratory has adopted a quality system based on the internationally recognised ISO/IEC Guide 25. A Laboratory Information Management System, SQL-LIMS has also been installed to provide efficient data management, including customer reports and inventory.
