Shell Aims To Help One Million Motorists Understand Shell Unleaded 95

27/07/2009

Kuala Lumpur, 27 July 2009 –Shell today announced that it aims to reach 1 million motorists on the new Shell Unleaded 95 fuel by end of September 2009, to support the Government’s move to introduce the fuel nationwide on September 1, 2009.

The introduction of the new Shell Unleaded 95 at our first pilot station is the first step to bring the fuel to the public.  This new fuel has been made available at Shell Alisha station located at Batu 3, Federal Highway Klang bound since July 8, 2009.

Dato’ Mohzani Abdul Wahab, Managing Director, Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd and Shell Timur Sdn Bhd said, “Customers at Alisha Station have been very receptive to the new fuel and we are very encouraged with the response and so plan to introduce another station with Shell Unleaded 95 by first week of August.”

“To assist with the introduction of the fuel, we have had staff stationed at the forecourt to assist customers seeking information. By helping to address their concerns on RON 95 and educating Malaysian motorists on what Shell Unleaded 95 is all about, we hope to help facilitate a smooth and educated shift when the new fuel is available nationwide.”

“This is very much part of Shell’s commitment to ensure that our customers are aware of the differences in fuel, because not all fuels are the same and it is important that they can make an informed choice of the fuel that meets their needs” explained Dato’ Mohzani.

Shell started its outreach to motorists nationwide earlier this month by distributing brochures with frequently asked questions (FAQs) on Shell Unleaded 95 on site and plan to expand the distribution to all stations nationwide.  In addition, Shell is also working with various motoring media both print and online to help educate motorists on RON 95.

Interested motorists can also visit the Shell Malaysia website www.shell.com.my to read up on the fuel or they can call our Shell Customer Service Centre. Another channel to reach out to the public is through our collaboration with car manufacturers and Car Clubs.
