The awards were presented under the Petroleum, Gas, Petrochemical and Allied sector category at the recent 2008 Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Award presentation ceremony held in Kuala Lumpur. Both Sarawak Shell Berhad and Shell Refining Company won Grand awards for the third consecutive year, the former for its Bintulu Integrated Facility and the latter for its Port Dickson Refinery. Sarawak Shell also bagged a maiden win of a Grand award for its offshore F6 Gas Complex. Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd received the Gold Class I award for its Sibu Installation, Sandakan Installation, Sepangar Bay Installation and Bagan Luar Installation while the Pasir Gudang Installation and Tanjung Gelang Installation won the Gold Class II award and Labuan Installation won the Silver award. Congratulating Shell Malaysia and its employees, Country Chairman of Shell Malaysia, Dato’ Saw Choo Boon said: “Shell is proud to receive these prestigious honours from MSOSH. These outstanding achievements are the result of our sustained efforts and commitment to excellence in our occupational safety and health management systems.” The annual safety and health performance awards from MSOSH are intended to give due recognition to all member organisations and companies which have achieved commendable safety and health records and/or have shown improvement in occupational safety and health processes through sound safety and health management systems.
