Leaving the Middle East, it was on to the exotic Far East, as the Ferrari 60 Relay flew in to Singapore. Received by the Italian Ambassador, the day in Asia's capital of technology ended with a photo-shoot of the Ferrari owners and cars that had taken part in this stage. For the participants it was an exciting opportunity to see over 80 cars from Maranello: from the most recent production cars like the F430 and 599 GTB Fiorano, through to some historical jewels and also, the limited edition Enzo Ferrari and F50.
Moving on to Kuala Lumpur, the cars dealt well with the difficult, tropical terrain, the participants' driving more than 350 kilometres in one day to get from Singapore to Malaysia's capital. Hong Kong was the third appointment in Asia and the Tour was welcomed with incredible professionalism and impeccable organisation, which included a fantastic gala evening at the marvellous Clear Water Bay.
In China, the Ferrari 60 Relay was greeted with enthusiasm by local Ferrari owners, before it moved to Japan where a seven day tour commenced. Starting on the Shiba Square in the centre of Tokyo, around 180 Ferrari owners participated in a ceremony in which the baton was handed over.
Some of the robes worn by the participants were impressive, such as that worn by Mrs Yasuki, wife of a Ferrari customer, who was wearing a kimono designed especially to celebrate the 60th anniversary. On to Mount Fuji the Tour went, visiting the stunning Ferrari display at the Matsuda Museum along the way. Named after the owner, Matsuda was Ferrari's first customer in Japan and an important personage.
The Ferrari 60 Relay visit to Taiwan was marked by a stunning sight, with Taipei's 101 Tower – the world's tallest skyscraper at 508m – dressed in red to celebrate the occasion. For a whole week the building carried the Ferrari logo as a demonstration of support for the legendary Italian carmaker.
With Indonesia in its sights, it was time for the Relay to move on again. It touched down in Jakarta on 24 February 2007. Pulling into the local Shell Service Station to re-fuel, the Ferrari convoy filled the site to overflowing, causing huge excitement amongst local fans and media. The city's jam-packed traffic was navigated easily, with a police escort to the Italian embassy for a final send-off before Oceania.
The next stage saw the cars make their way through Italy toward their final destination, Maranello, where the final celebrations took place from 21–25 June 2007.
